Hari Raya Aidiladha
This year we celebrated Aidiladha in Gombak. It's usually a low key event, but it was good to be with family and eat lots of raya food. Kak Long was around which made it even better. Too bad we didn't get to take lots of pics cause couldn't get everyone together at the same time. But I did managed to get a few.

Vacation @ Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta
Our family and parents in law went to Jakarta for a holiday. I bought tickets online earlier in June when MAS was having a zero fare sale. We only had to pay for the airport tax and fuel surcharge which came to less than RM400 per person. Then I went ahead and booked accomodation online after doing some research. I booked two rooms at the Sari Pan Pacific for three nights at about USD100 pernight.
We left Seri Putra around noon on the 3rd December. Stopped by WARTA Bangi to changed more money and bought lunch. Then went to Dengkil to pick up Papa and Mama. We arrived at KLIA at around 3pm and left Malaysia around 4 pm. The flight was ok but it was a bit small and crampy. After mealtime, everyone took a nap except for me and Zade. The flight was about three hours, and finally landed in Jakarta around 6 pm (Jakarta time).

A rep from Sari Pan was waiting for us at the immigration counter holding a placard with my name. He took us to baggage claim and ushered us outside. We waited a few minutes for our pickup to arrive. It was a Toyota Kijang otherwise known as Innova here in Malaysia. We arrived at the hotel about an hour later. It wasn't very far but the traffic was bad.
We had to go through security as we entered the lobby. Not a very good first impression, but then again it showed that the security at the hotel is tight, which I guess is a good sign. Anyway, I went to the reception to checked in. Since I've booked rooms on the Pacific floor, I was able to checked in faster using the special check in counter. The receptionist then invited us up to the Pacific Lounge for cocktails. The bellboy helped carry our luggages and showed the rooms. We had to use the key card to get to the Pacific floor where our rooms are located. I was surprised to see my room. It was actually a suite with a living area and a kitchennete. The interior was tastefully decorated. I've stayed at the honeymoon suite in Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur, but it is nothing compared to this.Tried to keep my cool, as I don't want the bellboy to think that we're some hillybilly.
Then we went up to the Pacific Lounge. They had a huge spread for a cocktail. It was more like dinner. We we're told that kids under 12 can't be there after 6pm. Since we have Zade with us, they will send the food to our room. I find that is better, as we could enjoy the food and chit chat in the comfort of our room. We choosed the food and ordered our drinks. About 15 minutes later, it was send to us. Yummy. Now we don't have to worry about going out for dinner as the cocktail is provided each night for those staying on Pacific floor.

The next day we woke up early and had breakfast at the Pacific lounge. The food was ok but the spread was not big probably because it catered only for three floors. Anyway we enjoyed it as there were not many people and it was quite relaxing. After a breakfast we waited for a driver but he didn't show up. We finally left the hotel around noon and headed to Mangga Dua. the mall was packed with people and merchandise. There were handbags, luggages, clothes, toys, food everywhere you turn. I bought a few blouses, telekung and kerepek. After lunch we head back to the hotel. After dinner we went to Sarinah Dept Store which was across the street from the hotel. I had a discount coupon from the hotel which was great. I bought a few t-shirts and a pair of shoes for Zade. We stopped by Starbucks on the way back. Then we chit chat while finishing the coffee and desserts that we took from the lounge earlier.
When we woke up the next morning, I realized that Zade didn't look like himself. And after breakfast, he got worse. He had a temperature and was crying. I decided to stay with him at the hotel and told Danial to take his parents to Tanah Abang. I felt disappointed as I really wanted to shop there, but no point in ruining everyone's fun. Zade had a good rest, though he didn't really recover till we got back to Malaysia. I ordered soto from room service for lunch. Danial came back a few hours later. He bought a jubah for me and a Doraemon outfit for Zade. I know he felt bad leaving me and Zade but I told him that it was ok. We decided to go to a mall nearby before dinner. We found a Krispy Kreme store and I bought a few dozens to take home.
We went home the next day. The flight home was much more comfortable as we were on a bigger plane. The food was also nicer. At KLIA, Danial showed me the new COACH island store. I only wanted to browse around but I saw a gorgeous bag on sale and couldn't resist. I bought it and was on cloud nine. The holiday ended on a high note for me.
