Welcome to the World Baby Boy

Alhamdulillah, I've delivered a baby boy on the 8th of November 2007 at 12.30 am. The delivery was quite traumatic which ended with an emergency ceasarean. I am so thankful that he is ok now. No words can describe hoe I feel. I feel like the luckiest mother in the world.

Going to USA

Not me. But my cousin Aanis and aunt Ma'oi. They will be staying with Kak Long and Chris in Seattle to help them take care of their new baby Aidan. My cousin Tia couldn't come along for the send off as she has an exam. She was crying cause she's pretty close to Aanis inspite of their constant bickering. She's is so the drama queen. I wish both of you a pleasant journey. All of us here will miss both of you dearly.

Being Pregnant

I am now 38 weeks pregnant. As you can see from the photo, I am huge. The baby is now about 3.3 kg. I can't wait to see it although I feel quite scared as I do not know what to expect. I hope the labor wil be a short one.

Aidilfitri 2007

This year I celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri in Gombak. Danial got time off, which was great. We didn't go back to Danial's hometown because I'm due in two weeks and I did not want to risk having the delivery on the way or in Alor Setar. It's probably the last raya that I'll be celebrating in Malaysia as I will be going to Melbourne in a few months. It was great fun because everyone was around on the 1st of Syawal. Lots of good food to eat and got to snap a few nice pics. I didn't get a new baju kurung or kebaya as I'm really huge and don't see the point of buying since I'll only be able to use it once. I actually found one that I could fit into. It's a yellow batik baju kurung which I had since I was in Form 3. Was I that huge back then???

Around noon the whole family headed to Setapak to pay a visit to Nenek's brother. His wife is my late Atuk's sister. The older group aka my mum, aunts and uncles got to catch up with the relative while the younger group aka myself, Danial and cousins stuffed our faces yet again. I guess that's what Raya is all about.

Curtain

Danial and I moved into our apartment in Seri Putra more than two and a half years ago. Since then, my sliding door has been without curtain because I just couldn't be bothered. I've always thought it was pointless as no one could see us since we're on the 12th floor and the view is really nice.

I'm not sure what got into me recently that made me go to Azizah Hias in Bangi to make curtain for the sliding door - must be the Anjung Seri magazine that I've been reading. I had a quick look in their catalog and found a lovely floral design that I really liked. The lady who was serving me looked for another material to go with it. After finalizing the design, I made the order and a month later I got my new curtain.

I really think it looks nice. I would consider the price a bit expensive, but considering that I'm not going to get another one anytime soon - maybe another 5 years, and how it makes the apartment feel more cosy, I think it's ok.

Ultrasound

Each time I go for my checkup at the gynae I look forward to the glimpse of my baby. It's really exciting and overwhelming at the same time. I find it amazing to see the changes that the baby goes through in only a few months.

It's positive

I'm pregnant. Dr Fazlina did not want to confirm it even though the UPT was positive. Only when she saw the hearbeat during the ultrasound was she convinced. I knew that she didn't want to give me false hope. I just could not hold back my tears when I looked at the monitor. I was overjoyed and grateful. She gave me a hug as she knew how long I've waited for this moment. Alhamdulillah.
